Recently arrived at the iAero Centre is the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) ‘Factoy Plus’ System. This is an open source framework that establishes the digital foundations for a state-of-the-art connected manufacturing facility. Based on modern, lightweight and scalable technologies, it is designed to solve problems presented by legacy, organic, point-to-point based architectures. Factory+ champions connecting devices to a unified namespace and normalising data at source to create a centralised, single source of truth for contextualised information.
