iAero's Mission

To nurture an environment where SMEs and global companies can rapidly develop new products and high-value design and engineering solutions, accelerating innovation and fostering sustainable development within the UK aerospace supply chain.

Overview

The iAero Centre, located in Yeovil, Somerset, is a 2,500 square metre Research and Design facility dedicated to supporting the competitiveness and growth of the aerospace and associated high-value design and engineering technology supply chains.

This two-storey innovation hub features state-of-the-art workshops, conference rooms, networking spaces, and a distinctive 230 square metre helicopter hangar area.

The Centre is a strategic collaboration between Somerset Council and Leonardo Helicopters UK, situated in an area with a profound heritage in aerospace and aviation.

We believe the next major breakthrough in UK innovation could happen right here in Somerset. For the past few years, the iAero Centre in Yeovil has served as a vital hub for the region's aerospace and high-value engineering supply chains. Our mission at iAero is to nurture an ecosystem where industry giants, equipment providers, and academic institutions connect to rapidly develop new products and solutions.

The iAero Centre offers an agile environment for collaboration. By working together on disruptive technologies we can transform traditional advanced manufacturing and engineering here in Somerset. iAero is leading the development of sustainable, next-generation aerospace and defence technologies. This includes supporting the creation, testing, and commercialisation of autonomous systems, advanced air mobility, and alternative fuels.
